Looking for the design as well as creating the design are lifelong pursuits. I would like to track design ideas, solutions and challenges that I see and experience. I only hope to identify these in a meaningful way, talk around them and perhaps come up with a useful consideration of my own.

Did I say amazing? The Reno Hot Air Balloon Festival (Sept 12-13) was the highlight of the month. Visually it was a tremendous combination of size, color and motion. With the mass ascension of over 100 balloons in about an hour, your head was on a swivel, spinning around to see big, lighter than air balloons launching all around you.
If you get the chance, be sure to make the trip. We slipped in early to see the Dawn Patrol. That was the 5am launch of several balloons into the pre-dawn sky. They hung like giant paper lanterns in the air, the fiery blasts of the burners lighting the balloon.
Every fall balloonists from all over the country gather outside Reno Nevada for a balloon race. Not a cross country race, but a skills challenge. As a visitor, you can walk up to and around the beautifully colored balloons as the prepare for launch. Ant any one time, there can be over 100 balloons in the morning sky.
